Hot Club of TucsonThe Hot Club of Tucson is attracting a growing fan base down in Old Pueblo, This swinging trio that plays in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli consists of Nick Coventry on violin, Matt Mitchell on guitar, and Evan Dain (who also plays with Wildcat Jazz) on upright bass. They can be heard at the Sunday brunch from 10:30am to 1:30pm at the Hotel Congress Hotel in downtown Tucson.

At 18, Coventry studied classically at Cal State-Santa Barbara, and two years later, started this first gypsy swing band, Les Gendarmes du Swing, and began writing and performing around his hometown of Goleta, CA. In 2005, he traveled to the famous Djangofest at Samois-sur-Seine, France to play with the best European gyspy jazz musicians.

Lew Shaw started writing about music as the publicist for the famous Berkshire Music Barn in the 1960s.
