Sissle and Blake: Old Fashioned Love (1/8/1924)

The National Jukebox

The National Jukebox, is a collaboration between the Library of Congress, Sony Records, and several libraries, that has professionally indexed and digitized over 10,000 Victor 78 RPM discs issued between 1901 and 1925.

There are many gems to be found, including this beautiful recording of Sissle and Blake performing James P. Johnson‘s Old Fashioned love on January 8th, 1924. I encourage you to listen, and then explore further, you won’t be disappointed.

Great Jazz!

The flip side, “Sweet Henry”, is just as hot!
