Edward Grogan passed away on April 5th; he was 98 years old. Born in Bolton, England, he was an officer of the Royal Navy during World War II and served as part of the world’s first Aerobatic Air Squadron before immigrating to America after the war. His passion for jazz was legendary; he was the manager of the celebrated Queen City Jazz Band, one of the longest-running Dixieland jazz bands at over 60 years. He traveled globally with the band. Grogan was also an enthusiastic attendee of jazz festivals and concerts.
