“To-Wa-Bac-A-Wa” is Creole French for the very old melody known popularly as “Bucket Got A Hole In It”, and gives us some very attractive ensemble work. “Pretty Audrey” enables one to enjoy the traditional clarinet playing of Willie Joseph, the Oliver-like cornet of Dumaine himself, and a solo from composer Morris Rouse, who is given his head in a beautiful barrel-house solo in “Red Onion Drag” – very ably supported by the rhythm section. Dumaine had a mellow tone – well in the tradition of the best New Orleans cornetists vise his solo in “Franklin Street Blues“.
