Violinist Carroll Dickerson was leader of this orchestra at the Savoy Ballroom in Chicago. The orchestra also toured the Pantages Vaudeville circuit. The band included at various times, Louis Armstrong, Natty Dominique, Honore Dutrey and Earl Hines. They also recorded under the name of Carroll Dickerson’s Savoyagers. |
