Geoff Cole

Geoff Cole. a British trombonist with a career going back to the 1950s, died on June 25th, he was 90 years old. He was part of Ken Colyer’s band throughout the 60s and led his own Hot Five and Hot Seven bands for five albums on Big Bill Bissonete’s Jazz Crusade label. He worked with a number of other groups including Johnny Dankworth, Johnny Bastable, Gerald Bright, Brian White, George Probert, The Goin’ Home Band, The Church Alley Irregulars, Johnny Parker, and Sarah Spencer. Upbeat Mail Order has 12 albums featuring Cole currently available, several with Johnny Parker as leader.
