Sun Valley Jazz Festival Introduces Shaymus Hanlin as they Celebrate 30 Years this Fall

The Steele Family created a grant for the Sun Valley Jazz & Music Festival to promote a youth program. In honor of this bequest this year Sun Valley is introducing Shaymus Hanlin, a passionate vocalist who will graduate high school this spring. Terry Myers has been mentoring Shaymus in preparation for his debut at the Sun Valley Jazz & Music Festival in October. SVJ&MF has purchased Frank Sinatra Big Band charts for Hanlin, and he will be performing those charts with the Terry Myers' Big Band. He is very excited for this opportunity, and it reflects well on Sun Valley's dedication to raising up a new generation of jazz lovers and performers. The Sun Valley Jazz & Music Festival is also celebrating their 30th year anniversary this year. There will be several surprises at the event to celebrate the milestone and kick off the next 30 amazing years of hot jazz in Idaho! The 30th anniversary edition of Idaho’s Sun Valley Jazz and Music Festival covers five days and offers forty excellent bands (with over 200 shows to choose from), and will be headquartered at the Sun Valley Inn at the Sun Valley Resort. Performance venues include the Limelight Room, the Continental Room, the River Run Lodge, and Satchmo’s, with free concert
