25th Annual PENTASTIC HOT JAZZ & MUSIC FESTIVAL (Penticton, BC) – Sept. 6-8

Situated between two lakes in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Pentastic Hot Jazz is celebrating its 25th year.  As “the best Jazz Party in the Northwest”, the three day Pentastic HOT Jazz Festival brings world class jazz bands and performers to Penticton from Friday, September 6 through Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The line up this year includes Tom Hook and the Hounds, Dave Bennett Quartet, Dave Bennett and The Memphis Speed Kings, Tom Rigney and Flambeau, Professor Cunningham and His Old School Band, and more to be scheduled. There are four venues that are close together although a free shuttle is available for all those that wish to use that service. All venues are non smoking and dancing is encouraged.

CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA RAGTIME AND AMERICAN MUSIC FESTIVAL (Orbisonia/Rockhill Furnace, PA) Sept. 12-15

Spend a weekend away in the mountains for the 2024 Central Pennsylvania Ragtime & American Music Festival, taking place September 12-15 in the heart of Huntingdon County, PA! GREAT NORTHEAST JUG BAND FESTIVAL (Arlington, MA) Sept. 27-28

Arlington Center for the Arts is thrilled to be presenting their annual Great Northeast Jug Band Festival on Saturday, September 28! The Legendary Jim Kweskin headlines New England’s ONLY Jug Band Festival, now in it’s fourth year. The Great Northeast Jug Band Festival showcases early blues, jazz, and string band traditions from the 1920’s and 30’s, and the modern evolution of this good-time music.
This free festival kicks off the night before with an open jug band jam lead by The Jug Nuts, in the back room of Donut Villa Diner in Arlington, MA from 7:30 to 9:30 on Friday, September 27. The main event moves outdoors on Saturday, September 28 at 2-6pm at the Arlington Craft Beer Garden on the lawn of the Jason Russell House at 7 Jason St in Arlington, MA. The line up this year features Jim Kweskin performing with a hand-picked group of musicians and sets by Outrageous Fortune and The Busted Jug Band.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a jam, a kid-friendly make-your-own instrument workshop, and performances by three of the region’s best jug bands! REDWOOD COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL (Eureka, CA) – Oct. 3-6

This year’s festival, which takes place in Eureka, California, boasts seven venues: Hagadone Stage at Eureka Municipal Auditorium, Chevron & George Petersen Insurance Stage at The Adorni Center, Pierson Building Center Stage at The Sequoia Center, The Eagle House Stage at The Inn & 2nd and C, Sun Valley Group Stage at Morris Graves Museum, and two performance stages at The Red Lion Hotel (which is the home base of the festival). Idaho’s Sun Valley Jazz and Music Festival covers five days and offers excellent bands in five venues at the Sun Valley Resort, plus free community concerts in Ketchum Town Square. The 31st Annual Eagles & Ivories Music Fest is staged in Muscatine, Iowa, at five different locations. A free eagle watch takes place Saturday morning at Pearl City Station in Riverfront Park. The music will be performed by Ivory &Gold® featuring Jeff and Anne Barnhart, Andy Schumm, Josh Duffee, Marty Mincer, the Mad Creek Mudcats, and the Locust Street Boys. NORTH CAROLINA JAZZ FESTIVAL (Wilmington, NC) – Feb. 6-8

Wilmington gives a warm welcome to all of the jazz lovers attending our 45th North Carolina Jazz Festival!  This historic city located on the bank of the Cape Fear River has many interesting shops, art galleries, museums and restaurants, as well as a movie studio, nearby beaches, plus Revolutionary and Civil War sites to explore during your days here. We will fill your evenings with exciting performances by some of the greatest traditional jazz musicians from around the globe!

Thursday Night Showcase: Gregg Gelb will headline the 45th annual opening night’s Special Event.

Friday and Saturday Nights: All evening concerts begin at 7:30 pm and are held at the Hotel Ballast ballroom. We will continue our celebration with All-Star musicians playing in the traditional seven sets of six or seven players, each set with a different leader. You will see/hear many of our favorite NCJF musicians plus new additions to our lineup. You will not want to miss this exciting 45th annual North Carolina Jazz Festival! These will be 4 ½ hour concerts. Scheduled musicians include Adrian Cunningham, Bruce Harris, Chuck Redd, Dion Tucker, Herman Burney, Jonathan Russell, Lucy Yeghiazaryan, Nate Najar, and Rossano Sportiello.

Patron Brunch: On Saturday from 10:30 until 2pm we treat our patrons to a musical brunch, when all of our All-star musicians play for their pleasure while everyone enjoys a delicious brunch.  During the last hour we have a “jam” when the patrons who are musicians have the opportunity to play with the All-stars.  Fun for all!

Ticket are $65 for Thursday, and $65 for Friday & Saturday. Each night $25 military, $15 students. Patron tickets are $215, for the Friday and Saturday evening concerts plus the special patron brunch at 10:30 Sat. morning.
